Turkiye’s Central Bank Reserves Hit Record High of $148.45 Billion

Total Reserves Surge by $5.54 Billion in a Week

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) has announced a significant increase in its total reserves, which soared by $5.54 billion in the week ending July 5th. This surge pushed the total reserves to a record-breaking $148.45 billion, according to the latest weekly monetary and banking statistics released by the CBRT.

As of July 5th, the Central Bank’s gross foreign exchange reserves saw a substantial increase of $4.90 billion, rising from $84.83 billion on June 28th to $89.73 billion. During the same period, the gold reserves also experienced an uptick, climbing by $640 million from $58.08 billion to $58.72 billion.

Overall, the Central Bank’s total reserves grew from $142.91 billion in the previous week to $148.45 billion by July 5th, marking a remarkable increase and setting a new record for the institution.
