ISTANBUL — Türkiye’s central government budget posted a TRY 378.1 billion deficit in July, bringing the cumulative budget deficit for the first seven months of 2026 to TRY 1.32 trillion, according to budget execution data released by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

Budget revenues increased 28.8% year on year in July to TRY 1.412 trillion, while budget expenditures rose 59.8% to TRY 1.791 trillion.

Seven-Month Revenues Exceed TRY 9.2 Trillion

Between January and July, central government budget revenues increased 37.4% year on year to TRY 9.20 trillion.

Budget expenditures, meanwhile, rose 36.6% over the same period to TRY 10.52 trillion. As a result, the central government budget recorded a deficit of TRY 1.321 trillion during the first seven months of the year.

The figures highlight the continued pressure on public finances, with expenditure growth significantly outpacing revenue growth in July.
