Turkiye’s chicken meat production increased by 5.7%

Chicken meat production in Turkiye increased by 5.7% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 210 thousand 77 tons, and chicken egg production increased by 6.5% to 1 billion 719 million units.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the poultry production data for September.

Accordingly, 210 thousand 77 tons of chicken meat was produced in September. While production increased by 5.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, it decreased by 2.7% on a monthly basis.

In September, 1 billion 719 million 515 thousand chicken eggs were produced in Turkiye, with an annual increase of 6.5% and a monthly increase of 2.1%.

114 million 798 thousand chickens were slaughtered in September. The number of slaughtered chickens increased by 4.5% compared to September 2021.

In this period, turkey meat production increased by 21.1% on an annual basis and rose to 5 thousand 433 tons.

In the January-September period, the number of slaughtered chickens increased by 11.8%, turkey meat production by 12.1%, chicken meat production by 10.4% and chicken egg production by 1.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
