The number of crypto asset investors with an account balance registered with Türkiye’s Central Securities Depository (MKK) has approached 3.5 million, according to MKK General Manager Dr. Ekrem Arıkan.
Speaking to Bloomberg HT, Arıkan discussed the latest figures for investors in Türkiye’s capital markets and crypto asset ecosystem. He said MKK operates not only in capital markets but also in areas including agricultural products and crypto asset data.
Registered Investors Near 40 Million
Arıkan said the number of registered investors in Türkiye is approaching 40 million.
The number of investors with balances, including crypto asset investors, has reached approximately 13 million, while the number of investors in the equity market has stabilized at around 7 million.
Crypto Investor Base Expands
According to Arıkan, the number of crypto asset investors who have an MKK registration number and hold a balance is nearing 3.5 million.
The figure highlights the growing participation of Turkish investors in the crypto asset market alongside traditional capital market investments.
Istanbul to Host Global Central Securities Depositories Summit
Arıkan also announced that the Central Securities Depositories Summit will be held in Istanbul in 2026.
The event is expected to bring together representatives from central securities depositories and market infrastructure institutions to discuss developments in the global financial ecosystem.
