Gold- and energy-excluded current account sees surplus of $2.6B, official data shows

Turkiye’s current account balance saw a $9.9 billion deficit in January, according to data from the Turkish Central Bank on Monday

The deficit widened from $5.9 billion in the previous month and $6.9 billion in January 2022, the data showed.

The country’s gold- and energy-excluded current account posted a surplus of $2.6 billion in the month.

The goods deficit reached to $12.4 billion and the services saw a net surplus of $3.2 billion in January.
