Türkiye’s e-commerce sector reached a transaction volume of approximately $115 billion, according to the latest “Overview of E-Commerce in Türkiye” report.
The report revealed that the country’s online commerce market exceeded 5 trillion Turkish lira in 2025, highlighting the rapid expansion of digital shopping and online services across the country. Industry representatives said mobile commerce, artificial intelligence-supported personalization, and stronger logistics infrastructure were among the main drivers of growth.
Data showed that retail e-commerce alone surpassed 1.6 trillion lira, while the number of online transactions climbed into the billions. The sector’s share in Türkiye’s gross domestic product also continued to increase, reflecting the growing importance of digital trade in the national economy.
Fashion, footwear, and accessories remained the largest online shopping categories, while food delivery and rapid-commerce services recorded significant growth. Analysts noted that changing consumer habits and wider smartphone usage have accelerated the shift toward online shopping.
Major platforms operating in Türkiye, including Trendyol, Hepsiburada, and Amazon, continue expanding their market presence as competition intensifies in the sector.
