Türkiye’s housewares sector recorded a 1.2% increase in exports in 2024, reaching $5.56 billion, according to a statement from the Housewares Association (ZÜCDER). Türkiye, ranking among the top 10 housewares exporters globally, exports products to major markets including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and the US.
Strong Growth in the Second Half of 2024
With a total market value of $12.5 billion, split evenly between domestic sales and exports, the housewares sector saw a mixed performance throughout the year. In the first half of 2024, exports declined by 4.46%, but strong recovery in the second half led to an overall annual growth rate of 1.2%.
ZÜCDER President: “We Maintained Growth Despite Global Challenges”
ZÜCDER President Mesut Öksüz highlighted the sector’s resilience, stating:
“Despite currency fluctuations affecting global competitiveness, regional conflicts, and economic uncertainties worldwide, our industry professionals continued to contribute to Türkiye’s economy. While many sectors faced contractions, we successfully maintained export growth in the housewares industry.”
Türkiye Ranks 9th in Global Housewares Exports
Türkiye currently ranks 9th in the world in housewares exports. The UK remains the top export destination, with Turkish brands gaining strong recognition worldwide, particularly in glassware and porcelain.
Öksüz added:
“No matter where you go in the world, industry professionals know the names of leading Turkish housewares brands. As an industry, we represent eight key product categories, from glassware to porcelain, and have been actively working to boost exports for 20 years.”
To support this growth, ZÜCDER has been organizing key industry events for the past decade, including the ZÜCHEX Fair and B2B meetings. These initiatives have played a crucial role in increasing export volume, as reflected in industry reports.
With consistent growth and strategic efforts, Türkiye’s housewares sector is poised to further strengthen its position in global markets.
