7 sectors within the industry achieved the highest January-June exports of all time.
According to the information compiled by AA correspondent from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports decreased by 1.8% in the 6 months of this year to $123 billion 376 million.
In the first half of this year, Turkiye’s industrial exports decreased by 6.2% to $88 billion 357 million.
Despite the decline in industrial foreign sales due to global and national developments in the 6-month period, sectors stood out by breaking an export record.
In the said period, the share of the industrial sector in Turkiye’s total exports was 82%.
Leather and leather products, automotive industry, electricity and electronics, machinery and accessories, jewelry, defense and aviation industry and air conditioning industry realized the highest January-June exports of all time.
Automotive industry exports exceeded $17 billion
In the said period, leather and leather products sold $1.3 billion, automotive industry $17.3 billion, electricity and electronics $7.9 billion, machinery and accessories $5.5 billion, the jewelry industry $3.4 billion, the defense and aerospace industry $2.4 billion, and the air conditioning industry $3.6 billion.
In the 6 months of the year, exports of leather and leather products increased by 5%, the automotive industry by 13.7%, electrical and electronics by 8%, and machinery and accessories by 11.4%, the jewelry industry by 13.1%, the defense and aerospace industry by 21.6%, and the air-conditioning industry by 6.7%.
The Russian Federation came to the fore in the leather and leather products, machinery and accessories sector
In terms of countries, exports of leather and leather products to the Russian Federation amounted to $118.8 million, and machinery and accessories for $699.3 million in the January-June period.
The automotive industry sold $2.4 billion and the air conditioning industry $388.1 million to Germany.
During this period, the electrical and electronics industry exported $769.7 million to the United Kingdom, and the jewelery industry exported $753.1 million to the United Arab Emirates.
Automotive industry exports worth $4.4 billion from Kocaeli
On the basis of provinces, $646 million of leather and leather products, $1.8 billion of machinery and accessories, $1.4 billion of air-conditioning industry, $4 billion of electricity and electronics, and $2.7 billion of jewelry were exported from Istanbul.
$4.4 billion of automotive industry exports were made from Kocaeli.
