Turkiye’s oil imports have decreased by 6.8%

Turkiye’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum products decreased by 6.8% in December last year compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 million 753 thousand 265 tons. Most imports of crude oil and petroleum products were made from Russia, Iraq and Kazakhstan.

According to the “Petroleum Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for December last year, the import of crude oil, which constitutes the largest item in Turkiye’s total oil imports, decreased by 23.9% and amounted to 2 million 267 thousand 25 tons.

In this period, the import of diesel types increased by 25.4% and amounted to 1 million 90 thousand 438 tons. Aviation and marine fuels, gasoline and fuel-oil types and other products constituted the remaining part of the imports.

Thus, total imports decreased by 6.8% in December last year compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 million 753 thousand 265 tons.

The highest import of crude oil and petroleum products was made from Russia with 1 million 948 thousand 652 tons, followed by Iraq with 1 million 14 thousand 739 tons and Kazakhstan with 198 thousand 119 tons.

On the other hand, gasoline sales increased by 4% in December last year compared to the same month of the previous year and became 315 thousand 381 tons, diesel sales decreased by 0.8% to 2 million 247 thousand 98 tons.

Total petroleum products sales increased by 1.5% and were recorded as 2 million 727 thousand 445 tons.

Exports of petroleum products decreased by 30.8%

Turkiye’s aviation fuel exports increased by 3.3% in December last year compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 270 thousand 96 tons.

In the said period, the export of marine fuels decreased by 56.7% to 87 thousand 914 tons.

Exports of gasoline types decreased by 51.1% to 77 thousand 151 tons, while exports of diesel types decreased by 24.5% to 269 thousand 41 tons.

In the petroleum market, total exports with other products decreased by 30.8% and amounted to 788 thousand 797 tons.

In December last year, the production of diesel types decreased by 10.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 1 million 451 thousand 769 tons, the production of gasoline types decreased by 19.2% to 357 thousand 324 tons, and the production of aviation fuels increased by 2.9% to 302 thousand 858 tons.

Marine fuels production decreased by 77.7% and was calculated as 58 thousand 330 tons. Total refinery petroleum products production with other fuel types decreased by approximately 15.6% to 2 million 778 thousand 192 tons.
