Turkiye’s second commercial satellite Connecta T1.2 launched into space

The Connecta T1.2 satellite, completed by the space firm Plan-S, was launched into space with the SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter 6 rocket.

Plan-S, which was established in Ankara Bilkent Cyberpark in August 2021 and launched the Connecta T1.1 satellite, which was its first target in just nine months, launched its second satellite, Connecta T1.2, into space with the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Plan-S, which embarked on a space journey with a small team, today completed its second satellite with a team of seventy experts and succeeded in launching it into space. Continuing to work with its own capital, Plan-S has completed all the integration and testing processes of the Connecta T1.2 satellite under its own roof.

Third satellite on its way

While improving the experience gained from the previous satellite in its new satellite designed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and satellite communication, Plan-S will have an infrastructure where many additional applications for the communication of Internet of Things devices can be tested. With this infrastructure, Plan-S, which will produce smart and easily accessible solutions for many sectors from maritime, smart agriculture, energy to logistics, will also launch its third satellite in the near future.

Space will be the most important sector of the future

Speaking about the launch of the Connecta T1.2 satellite, Plan-S Chairman of the Board Sami Aslanhan said, “When we embarked on this journey with Plan-S, we knew that we would experience many firsts. We will see more clearly in the future that it is very important to invest in space, especially in satellites. Space will be the most important sector of the coming years.”

Space travel will continue

Stating that the work of the new satellite, which will carry out studies on “Earth Observation” after the Internet of Things satellite, is about to be completed, Plan-S CEO Tugay Guzel said, “I would like to thank all my teammates who share our excitement, make their day and night and always try to do better.” Guzel added that they have a long space journey ahead of them with these two satellites and the ones that will follow.

Message to space: The future is in the skies!

The excited signal wait of Connecta T1.2, which started to emit signals after leaving the rocket, was also completed. As in the first satellite Connecta T1.1, the signal message broadcast all over the Earth “FUTURE IS IN THE SKIES! MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATURK”.
