Hotels in Sarikamis Ski Center are mostly full during the ski season.
Local and foreign tourists who come to Sarikamis Ski Center at an altitude of 2,634 meters, which is one of the favorite centers of winter tourism with its crystal snow, Scots pine forests and long ski slopes, have a pleasant holiday by skiing, snowboarding and sledding.
The density of hotels in the ski resort, where the snow thickness on the slopes has increased to 154 centimeters due to the intermittent rainfall, makes tourism professionals happy.
Governor and Deputy Mayor Ziya Polat told reporters that the snow that has been effective in recent days has extended the season.
Stating that the season was full at the center, Polat said, “Thank God, there was abundant rainfall this year, we had a very good season and we continue to do so. Our hotels were full, especially during the semester break. According to the information we have received from our hotelier friends, our occupancy rate is currently at 95%, and it looks like it will continue.”
Polat stated that the ski resort was busy on the weekends and continued as follows:
“Our friends are making every effort to make skiing more enjoyable and happier for the people who come. There is no problem on our slopes at the moment, we carry out the crushing process with our vehicles every evening. We will extend the season as much as we can. It seems like the season will probably extend until the end of March. Of course, if the God gives abundant snowfall, this will take a little longer. Our people are happy, our hoteliers are happy, we are happy. We want all local and foreign people to enjoy the land of crystal snow. This is a paradise of natural wonders, you can rarely find the pleasure of gliding through the Scots pines here.”
Stating that he came to Sarikamis for the first time, Gokhan Sunay said that they came from Bursa to visit Kars and ski, and said, “We skied in Bursa and other places, but the view, nature, and travel culture theme of Sarikamis are much more beautiful. We are waiting for those who do not know us and those who do not know us to come to Sarikamis.” Ski instructor Osman Atilla stated that they had a good season and invited ski lovers to the center.
