Turkiye’s wind potential will be introduced in Germany

Turkiye’s wind energy sector will be showcased at the WindEnergy Hamburg Conference and Fair. The potential of Anatolia in wind energy will be introduced to foreign investors.

Within the framework of the organization organized by the Turkish Wind Energy Association (TUREB), 30 Turkish companies will be showcased at the WindEnergy Hamburg Conference and Fair.

The delegation of 121 people, including Turkish companies, will introduce the potential of Anatolia in wind energy to foreign investors at the event attended by the leading companies of the global wind energy sector, the energy and industry ministers of various countries and other senior public officials.

The companies that will exhibit their products in the field of wind technology will establish new business contacts and strengthen their existing ones. In the “H2 Expo Hydrogen Fair and Congress”, the second event organized within the scope of the fair covering September 26-30, hydrogen production, storage and transportation technologies that will be integrated with wind energy in the future were discussed, at the same time, the hydrogen production potential of Turkiye, which is rich in renewable energy, will be explained.

The delegation, formed by TUREB and consisting of high-level public and private sector participants, will have the opportunity to compare and promote the current situation of Turkiye in wind energy with the practices and technological innovations of the leading countries in the sector, during the meetings and technical trips in Germany.

Record participation from Turkish companies

TUREB President İbrahim Erden, in his evaluation of the program, said that the number of companies from Turkiye and the world participating in the WindEnergy Hamburg event, which has been held after the Covid-19 epidemic that has been experienced worldwide for two years, is at a record level.

Expressing that the participation of Turkish companies in events of this magnitude and showing their products, potentials and plans will contribute to the development of the sector in the long run, Erden said, “WindEnergy Hamburg, the second largest wind energy fair in the world after China, is a very important meeting for investors from America and Europe. Turkish wind industry officials, which produce added value and undertake important projects, will have the opportunity to introduce themselves after the epidemic at this great event. At the same time, we will explain the potential of our country in this field in response to the great interest in hydrogen production as a result of the natural gas crisis. We also want Turkish companies to leave this event satisfied. This event is also important in terms of demonstrating Turkiye’s desire to become a wind energy production center and a manufacturing base for new technologies such as storage and hydrogen.”

Turkiye’s wind energy profile

Turkiye’s installed power in wind energy reached 11,641 megawatts as of the end of June. In wind energy, a threshold has been crossed in this field, with the installed power of 2,355 megawatts in 2012 exceeding 10 thousand megawatts in about 10 years.

There are 4 factories of 3 global blade manufacturers, 7 turbine tower manufacturers and over 100 sub-industrialists producing various turbine components in Turkiye. At the same time, more than 20 thousand people are directly employed in the wind industry in Turkiye.
