Turksat signed the first agreement for the Turksat 5B satellite

Turksat Inc. signed the first agreement for the Turksat 5B satellite, which is planned to be sent into space at the end of the year. With the strategic cooperation agreement signed between Turksat Inc. and Inmarsat, Inmarsat GX services will be carried out in Turkey over the Turksat 5B satellite.

The said agreement was signed by Turksat Inc. Deputy General Manager of Satellite Services Dr. Selman Demirel and Inmarsat Vice President of Technology Dr. Mark Dickinson at the world’s largest satellite fair Satellite 2021, held in Washington DC, the capital of the USA.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Omer Fatih Sayan and Turksat Inc. General Manager Hasan Huseyin Ertok witnessed the signing ceremony. Selman Demirel, in his speech at the ceremony, said that the agreement would be a good global cooperation. Demirel stated that with the agreement, Turksat Inc. will have the opportunity to create joint global capacity with Inmarsat.

Dr. Mark Dickinson also stated that the company wants to improve its relations with Turksat.

Emphasizing that Turksat Inc.’s capacity is very important for them to meet the needs of users in Turkey and the region, Dickinson said, “This is a really important step for Inmarsat to expand its Global Xpress KA band network. We worked collaboratively to find a good solution and we hope this relationship will last a long time.”

With the strategic cooperation agreement between Turksat Inc. and Inmarsat, Inmarsat GX services and infrastructure will be provided in Turkey via Turksat 5B satellite.

With the previously signed strategic cooperation agreement between companies, Inmarsat global services can be offered to customers by Turksat as Tier-1, and with this new cooperation solution, Inmarsat GX services will be provided by Turksat 5B satellites and an infrastructure in Turkey.
