Two local startups, Ollang and Scoundrel, will compete for the $10 million prize at the Entrepreneurship World Cup

The winners of the Entrepreneurship World Cup have been announced. Ollang was chosen as the first online translation service provider, and Scourge Mobility, which offers a turnkey business model in the fields of scooter and e-mobility, was chosen as the second. The Entrepreneur Women’s Special Award was also given to Lal Polater from Scoundrel Mobility. Ollang and Scoundrel Mobility will now compete to win the $10 million in-kind service award in the global competition.

The results of the Turkiye leg of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC), organized in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and Monsha’at, have been announced.

In the competition, which was held for the fourth time this year, the final jury consisted of GEN Turkiye Chairman of the Board Nevzat Aydin, GEN Turkiye Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Insider Co-Founder & CEO Hande Cilingir, GEN Turkiye Board Member and Coca-Cola Turkiye General Manager Basak Karaca, Google Turkiye Director Responsible for Retail, Game and Start-Up Sectors Alpagut Cilingir, GEN Turkiye Board Member and Raiffeisen Country Manager Gokce Kabatepe, GEN Turkiye Board Member and Alarko Holding Digital Transformation and Innovation Director Tal Garih.

Ollang, who brought together online translation service seekers and professional translators, won the first place, while Scourge, who offered a turnkey business model in the fields of scooter and e-mobility, was the second. In addition, Lal Polater from Scoundrel Mobility was given the “Entrepreneurial Woman Special Award”.

Coca Cola, Google and Trendyol provided financial sponsorship for the national finalists; Ollang, who came first in the competition, in which Kavlak, Kolektif House and Meta were among the same sponsors, received a cash prize of ₺300,000, as well as legal consultancy and the right to participate in the Global Accelerator Program. Hergele Mobility, which came in second, won the right to participate in the Global Accelerator Program and legal consultancy, as well as a 1-year free Kolektif House membership. Lal Polater from Hergele Mobility, who also received the Entrepreneurial Woman Special Award, also received a cash award of ₺150,000. Ollang and Scoundrel Mobility will now compete to win a global $10 million in-kind service award and $1 million in monetary rewards.

The Entrepreneurship World Cup is a program that helps entrepreneurs of all levels, from the idea stage to scale-up, reach the next stage in their journey. EWC combines potential investments with access to a global platform with opportunities such as investor presentation, online training resources, mentoring and prize money.
