Two more awards for Istanbul Airport

Istanbul Airport was deemed worthy of the “World’s Most Family-Friendly Airport” and “Southern Europe’s Best Airport” awards at the “World Airport Awards 2023” organized by the UK-based aviation rating agency Skytrax.

According to the statement made by Istanbul Airport operator IGA, IGA Istanbul Airport, which has been awarded many times before, rose from eighth to sixth in the “World’s Top 10 Airports” list.

IGA Istanbul Airport, one of the most important global transfer centers in the world, at the “World Airports Awards 2023” organized by Skytrax at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, on March 15, 2023, was also awarded the “Best Airport in Southern Europe” and “The Most Family Friendly Airport in the World” by the votes of airline users.

IGA Istanbul Airport also became the “Best Airport in the World” in the category of passengers over 60 million.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted, whose views are included in the statement, congratulated Istanbul Airport, which was deemed worthy of two separate awards, for its success, and said, “The past few years have been extremely challenging for airports around the world. As we move away from the Covid-19 pandemic, it is pleasing that passenger numbers return to normal and that IGA Istanbul Airport is recognized as a leading airport by its customers.”

Istanbul Airport received three awards in 2022

IGA Istanbul Airport, which was registered as a “5 Star Airport” in 2020 and 2022, in the awards organized by the London-based aviation institute Skytrax, founded by the International Airports Council in 1989, has been organized since 2000, also won three awards, outstripping 550 airports at the 2022 World Airport Awards.
