UAE Launches AI-Powered Work Permit System to Boost Talent and Labor Market Efficiency

ICP MoHRE initiative uses Agentic AI for work permits aligning with Dubai AI strategy

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) in the UAE, partnering with the country’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), has revealed an AI-driven project to elevate labor market productivity in the UAE.

Powered by artificial intelligence, smart algorithms, and robotics, the effort aligns with the UAE government’s new Agentic AI operations framework, introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai aimed at accelerating digital transformation across federal entities.

The project seeks to draw top professional talent and skilled workers, meeting modern economy needs while reinforcing the UAE’s status as a premier global hub for expertise.

It advances national goals for a productive, diversified, balanced labor market, ramping up talent attraction amid worldwide shifts in work and production paradigms echoing UAE’s UAE Centennial 2071 vision for knowledge economy leadership.

Slated to launch early May, the system employs objective evaluation via key applicant indicators: professional skills, education, experience, and specialized knowledge for work permits.

Overall, it forms part of broader strategies to heighten productivity, streamline labor market operations, and foster a knowledge-centric, innovation-fueled economy.
