In order to reactivate mobile phones that have not been used for 7 years, an application will be requested from the user or importer. With the regulation, the mobile phones of foreign diplomats will also be registered.

With the draft of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, it is envisaged that devices with electronic identity information will be prevented from providing electronic communication services to lost, illegal or stolen devices, and regulations will be made regarding devices whose electronic identity information is copied to other devices.

If the user cannot be identified, registration will be made by the importer or manufacturer.

It will be required to accept all kinds of legal, criminal, administrative and financial responsibilities for the phone to be registered again. In the event that the importer or manufacturer of the device has ceased to operate, the user of the device will request a document that the importer or manufacturer has ceased its activities. After the actions to be taken, the IMEI number will be whitelisted, otherwise it will remain in the blacklist and be out of use.

REGISTER TO DIPLOMAT PHONES

According to the draft, cell phones of diplomats will also be registered through subscriber registration centers. Accordingly, people who carry a “foreign mission identity card” will be able to make registration applications for their mobile phones through subscriber registration centers.

A copy of the petition for mobile phone registration, the page with passport identification information and the page showing the entrance to the country will be requested from diplomats. Other documents determined by other public institutions can also be requested from foreign mission officers.
