UNDP to Provide Grants Between $60,000 and $140,000 to Support Change in the Business World

May 6, 2026

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with funding from the European Union, has launched a new grant program aimed at strengthening the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in promoting human rights within the business sector in Türkiye.

Financial Support for Civil Society

Under the initiative, CSOs operating in Türkiye will be eligible for financial support across three key areas: improving human rights approaches in business, enhancing the institutional capacity of civil society, and empowering women in working life.

Applications for the program will open on May 8, 2026, and will be accepted until August 14, 2026.

Grants in Three Categories

The grant scheme offers funding in three distinct categories:

  • $80,000–$140,000 for projects that promote multi-stakeholder dialogue and collaboration to strengthen human rights practices in business
  • $60,000–$80,000 for initiatives aimed at improving the capacity of civil society organizations in business and human rights
  • $60,000–$80,000 for projects focused on women’s rights and women’s empowerment in the workplace

Projects funded under the program are expected to run between 6 and 12 months.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include civil society organizations established in Türkiye before December 31, 2024. Certain non-profit entities that support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and facilitate the implementation of business and human rights approaches may also participate as partners.

Strengthening Human Rights in Business

The program is part of the broader “Responsible Business, Resilient Civil Society” project, which aims to improve alignment with international and EU standards on business and human rights, foster stronger policies, and enhance access to rights-based mechanisms.

The initiative highlights growing efforts to integrate human rights, gender equality, and responsible business practices into Türkiye’s economic landscape.
