ZenaTech to Establish a Drone Facility in Türkiye, Strengthening Its Global Presence
The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) sector has become a key player in global defense exports. With drones like Bayraktar, ANKA, Kargu, and Karayel, Türkiye has emerged as the world’s second-largest drone power after the United States. This strong position has drawn the attention of international investors.
US-based ZenaTech, a leading producer of military and agricultural drones, is set to establish a facility in Türkiye. Specializing in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and drone solutions, ZenaTech is also a contractor for the US Department of Defense and NATO. The new facility will focus on producing ZenaDrone 1000 UAVs and is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2025.
ZenaTech CEO: “Türkiye is Known for Defense Innovation”
ZenaTech, a Nasdaq-listed company, plans to initially set up a test facility in Türkiye. According to CEO Shaun Passley, “Having a testing facility in Türkiye will accelerate the development of ZenaDrone 1000 models for the US Department of Defense and NATO. More importantly, it will advance our AI-powered drone swarm solutions and the Drone Command Center at the core of our missions. Türkiye is an ideal European location for experimental drone testing and is recognized for its defense innovation. We are thrilled to collaborate there.”
The facility will focus on ISR&T (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting) operations and applications such as logistics and transportation. ZenaTech will also design a mobile Drone Command Center to manage multiple drones simultaneously. Additionally, the facility will aid in preparations for future FAA licensing applications in the US.
ZenaTech’s Global Expansion
Founded in 2017 to develop agricultural software, ZenaTech launched its first drone in 2018 and expanded its portfolio to include medical records software and field management solutions for railways and construction. By 2022, the company had established a 3,000-square-meter production facility in Dubai, followed by a 10,000-square-meter facility in Sharjah in 2023.
Last month, ZenaTech’s subsidiary, ZenaDrone, relocated to a new production facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This site plays a pivotal role in the company’s efforts to manufacture “Made in America” drones for the US military and NATO.
Military Drone Market to Reach $47 Billion by 2032
The global military drone market, valued at $14 billion in 2023, is projected to grow to $47 billion by 2032. ZenaTech aims to capitalize on this growth, focusing on intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and logistics applications. The company has already conducted successful trials with the US Air Force and Naval Reserves, testing its drones for field logistics and cargo transportation.
With its new facility in Türkiye, ZenaTech is poised to expand its global footprint, leveraging Türkiye’s strategic position and growing expertise in the UAV sector.
