Vestel and VIDAA Formalize Strategic Partnership to Expand Global TV Platform Presence

Vestel strengthens its position in the global smart TV market with a strategic partnership agreement with VIDAA, aiming for sustainable platform revenue and brand expansion.

Vestel has officially formalized a strategic partnership with smart TV platform VIDAA, following a memorandum of understanding signed in 2024. This move marks a significant step in Vestel’s efforts to expand its software and hardware capabilities and elevate its presence in the competitive global television market.

According to a company statement, Vestel — which currently collaborates with global content providers via systems like TiVo, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV, Titan OS, and its own proprietary operating system — is taking a further leap to diversify its product and customer portfolio. The goal: transforming platform revenues into a sustainable business model.

Known for its user-friendly interface, reliability, and ease of content access, VIDAA is expected to play a critical role in Vestel’s evolving platform strategy.

Vestel’s proprietary operating system already supports direct agreements with major global platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+, and Max, as well as local content providers like Tabii, Puhu TV, and Exxen.

“This Partnership Will Strengthen Our Global Brand” – Vestel CMO

Commenting on the development, Vestel Chief Marketing Officer Duygu Badem Uylukçuoğlu stated that platform technologies have become a key factor in shaping consumer preferences. She noted that while this transformation is progressing rapidly in the U.S. and Europe, Vestel is taking the lead in Turkey.

“As a brand spearheading this transformation, we are proud to be one of the strategic shareholders in VIDAA — the fastest-growing smart TV platform in the world. With VIDAA, whose majority stake is held by Hisense, China’s largest and the world’s second-largest TV manufacturer, our partnership will significantly enhance Vestel’s position in the global TV platform market,” Uylukçuoğlu said.

She added that this collaboration will allow for stronger cooperation with Hisense and unlock new growth opportunities across global markets. Under Vestel’s vision of becoming the “platform of platforms,” the company aims to stand out in content variety and user experience, while targeting sustainable growth through new business models — including digital advertising revenue and new partnerships.

“The open structure of VIDAA gives us a significant advantage in realizing these goals. In the upcoming period, we will introduce new business models that integrate the TV ecosystem with home appliances. This partnership will not only boost our long-term platform revenues but also support our goal of strengthening Vestel’s global brand power,” she emphasized.

“Direct Impact on Sales” – Vestel Foreign Trade GM

Vestel’s General Manager of Foreign Trade Sales, Seçkin Gençoğlu, also commented on the partnership, highlighting VIDAA’s rapid growth in Europe and its strong, user-friendly smart content access platform.

“As one of VIDAA’s strategic shareholders, we are elevating our sales capabilities to a much more strategic level. Today, consumers don’t choose TVs based solely on screen quality — they also consider platform experience and the speed of content access,” said Gençoğlu.

“The experience we offer through VIDAA will strengthen the position of Vestel-produced TVs — including our own brand and licensed brands such as Toshiba, Telefunken, and JVC — on store shelves across Europe. In intensely competitive markets, this collaboration will become a key differentiator and have a direct impact on our sales,” he concluded.

With this strategic move, Vestel aims to not only enrich its content ecosystem but also lead the evolution of the smart TV experience on a global scale.
