Turkish Airlines secures leases of 28 new aircraft

AerCap announced it reached an agreement with Turkish Airlines for the lease of 28 new aircraft. In total, the agreement is for 25 Boeing B737-8s and three B787-9s. Deliveries of the aircraft, which will come from the current orderbook of AerCap, will take place between 2024 and 2026. At the same time, AerCap said it also reached an agreement with the airline to extend the lease of six of its Airbus A330-200s.

Turkish Airlines’ fleet is currently made up of six A319s, twelve A320s, 65 A321s, 41 A321neos, 21 A330-200s, 36 A330-300s, fourteen A350-900s, 40 B737-800s,fifteen B737-900ERs, 20 B737-8s, five B737-9s, 35 B777-300ERs, eight B777Fs, and 20 B787-9s.

The airline is also still plotting to place a very large order for new aircraft to expand and renew its fleet in the coming years.
