
This week, gold and the U.S. dollar were the standout performers among investment instruments, while Borsa Istanbul closed in negative territory.
The BIST 100 index ended the week down 2.62% at 10,858.52 points, after trading between a low of 10,858.52 and a high of 11,259.32.
By sector, the industrial index lost 4.07% to 14,085.7, the financial index fell 3.09% to 14,352, the technology index dropped 2.68% to 28,313.10, and the services index slipped 0.08% to 10,896.92.
Among BIST 100 constituents, the top gainers were:
- Gen İlaç ve Sağlık Ürünleri (+12.24%)
- Eczacıbaşı İlaç, Sınai ve Finansal Yatırımlar (+11.12%)
- CW Enerji (+11.08%)
The biggest losers of the week were:
- Destek Finans Faktoring (-31.11%)
- Enerya Enerji (-15.63%)
- Sasa Polyester (-15.23%)
The most valuable listed companies were ASELSAN (₺985.4 billion), Garanti BBVA (₺569.9 billion), and Turkish Airlines (₺429.2 billion).
Gold and Currencies Rise
- The price of 24-carat gold per gram climbed 4.45% to ₺5,203.7.
- The Republic gold coin rose 3.43% to ₺35,115.
On the currency front:
- The U.S. dollar gained 0.28% to ₺41.6880.
- The euro advanced 0.78% to ₺49.0020.
- The British pound rose 0.9% to ₺56.2040.
- The Swiss franc increased 0.58% to ₺52.4210.
