The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is the first e-scooter from the manufacturer to feature dual suspension.
Launched on Monday at MWC 2023, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is the first e-scooter from the manufacturer to feature dual suspension. Along with the self-healing, tubeless Xiaomi DuraGell tires, this new feature should ensure smoother rides even on cobblestone streets and other bumpy terrain.
As the name implies, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is an upgrade from the 4 Pro, previously the best performing product in the company’s scooter range. The Ultra features a beefier motor (rated for max 940W, versus max 700W on the Pro), which lets it tackle hills more easily and go farther on a single charge. The Electric Scooter 4 Ultra should be able to handle inclines of up to 25%, versus 20% on the Pro model. The rated autonomy of the Scooter 4 Ultra is around 70km (~43 miles), or 15km (~9 miles) more than the Pro. As always,real-life performance will depend heavily on the weight of the user, road conditions, and speed.

The beefed-up performance comes with the drawback of added weight. The Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is around 50% heavier than the Pro, hitting 24.5kg. The new Xiaomi scooter is still foldable and relatively compact though — when the handlebar is collapsed, it measures around 53cm by 120cm.
Top speed hits 25 km/h (~16 mph), but that’s in the performance mode. A slower mode called “S” will give you improved battery life in exchange for lower max speeds, while the so-called Pedestrian mode tops up at a leisurely 6km/h.
We had a quick look at the scooter at MWC and we liked the new suspensions in particular. The riding platform visibly bounced up and down under the weight of a 70kg rider, which is a promising sign for comfort on bumpy roads. The materials and finish felt well put together as well.
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra will sell for €1,000 (~$1,055) and be available around the world.
The new scooter is one of several cool announcements Xiaomi made at MWC 2023 — the undisputed highlight was the flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphone, which looks to take the fight to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Xiaomi also showcased its first AR glasses at the show.
