Emil Guzelis, Chairman of the Board of Zen Pirlanta, the leading brand of diamond jewellery, is preparing to open a new diamond design and production center with an investment of ₺80 million. Zen Pirlanta Chairman of the Board, Emil Guzelis, stated that they will provide employment opportunities for 2 thousand people when the center works at full capacity.

When the facility established next to Kuyumcukent in Istanbul operates at full capacity, Zen Pirlanta’s monthly production of 40 thousand diamonds will increase to 200 thousand. The facility, which will be among the largest in the world with 13,500 square meters, is planned to be completed in 2022. Regarding the subject, Zen Pirlanta’s Chairman of the Board Emil Guzelis said, “Turkey can become the diamond production center of the whole world with its design and production power. We can take the leadership from China in production with both our design and production capabilities. We have a lot of capacity for this job.” Stating that they aim to complete the facility as soon as possible even though it slows down due to the pandemic, Guzelis states that they will increase the number of employment from 400 to 2,000 when they work at full capacity. Emphasizing that they are a leading brand in every field of diamond jewellery, Zen Pirlanta Chairman of the Board Emil Guzelis said: We own the largest chain of diamond stores with 74 stores at Turkey, 1 store in the USA, 3 stores in Germany, 3 stores in the United Arab Emirates, 1 store in Kuwait, Albania, Morocco, Peru and Bulgaria, 3 stores in Iraq and 3 stores in Cyprus. We have the largest production capacity in Europe and the Middle East. At the same time, we export to many regions around the world with our offices in New York, Antwerp, Dubai and Düsseldorf. We are the only license partner in Turkey of Forevermark, the diamond brand of the De Beers group, the world’s largest diamond company. Zen Pirlanta, which has 72 stores throughout Turkey, expanded the square meters of small stores while entering new shopping malls in 2020. The size of the stores, which used to be 50 square meters, has reached between 100 and 220 square meters. New store openings will continue in 2021. Zen Pirlanta will open two exclusive concept stores in Istanbul Akasya AVM and Izmir IstinyePark in 2021. Apart from this, it is aimed to open a second store in Mersin. Zen Pirlanta continued its leadership in diamond jewellery with an export of ₺170 million. The company, which has 18 stores abroad, opened new stores in Iraq, Morocco, Peru and Albania.

DIAMOND DID NOT LOST ITS ATTRACTION DURING THE PANDEMIC

“With the pandemic, everyone has reconsidered their spending and turned to less, but better and permanent things. According to the research conducted by the De Beers Group, 90% of consumers state that they prefer more meaningful, permanent gifts that will preserve their value over time, instead of practical, fun and functional gifts,” said Guzelis and added saying, “Even though our lives seem to have stopped for a while with the pandemic, diamonds were presented to women on special occasions, marriage proposals were made with a solitaire ring. At this point, our online store came to the fore. In the past, we have received the return of our investments in our online store as sales increase in a difficult period such as the pandemic. Our online sales increased by 1.9 times compared to the previous year.” He said that their target for 2021 is to achieve 50% growth by continuing this trend.
