Citroen Turkiye surpassed 2022 sales in the first 6 months

Citroen Turkiye General Manager Selen Alkim said, “With our performance in the first half of the year, we moved up to the third rank in the global market. Based on June, we succeeded in being the country where the most Citroen was sold after France.”

Citroen Turkiye, with its performance in the first half of the year, rose to the third place in the global market, while the sales of the brand in the first 6 months exceeded 2022.

According to Citroen Turkiye’s statement, Citroen, one of the deep-rooted players in the automotive industry, continues to be the choice of consumers with its innovative models that prioritize comfort.

Standing out in the Turkish market with its increasing performance since the beginning of the year, Citroen finished the month in 5th place with its sales of 8,144 units in June. The first 6-month sales of the brand increased 2.5 times compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 32 thousand 30 units. The remarkable sales performance of the brand also strengthened Turkiye’s position in the global market.

Turkiye, which was the second country with the highest sales of Citroen in the world in June, as it was in May, rose from the 5th place to the 3rd place globally in the first 6-month period.

C3, which is the most preferred model of Citroen with 5,361 units in the first 6 months, reached a market share of 7.6% in June. Ranking 3rd in the B-HB segment, the C3 attracted attention by increasing its sales by 125% compared to the same month of the previous year. The brand’s compact HB model C4, on the other hand, reached a share of 11.5% in its segment and rose to the second rank. The SUV segment representatives of the brand, C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross models, have increased their sales by 49% and 229%, respectively, compared to June 2022.

Citroen continued its performance in the passenger car market as well in the light commercial vehicle market. The ambitious player of the brand, Berlingo, became the second best-selling model in its segment with a market share of 19.3% in June. Berlingo came to the fore by increasing its sales by 277% compared to the same month of the previous year.

‘We have surpassed 2022 sales in 6 months’

Citroen Turkiye General Manager Selen Alkim, whose views were given in the statement, stated that they were pleased with the interest of Turkish consumers in Citroen models, and said, “We have entered a great trend of increase in our sales, especially since March. We closed last year with a sales figure of 28,831 units. When we added the electric mobility solution Citroen Ami, our sales reached the level of approximately 30 thousand units. This year, it has surpassed last year’s total sales in just 6 months.’

‘Our light commercial product range, as well as passenger models, has a large share in the increase’

Noting that Citroen Turkiye has risen to the third place in the global market with its performance in the first half of the year, Alkim said:

“Based on June, we, as Turkiye, succeeded in being the country where the most Citroen is sold in the world, after France. Our light commercial product range, as well as passenger models, has a major share in the great increase in our sales. Our target this year was to increase the share of our light commercial models in our sales to 30%. In the first 6 months, we sold 10 thousand 71 commercial vehicles. As of today, the share of light commercial vehicles in our sales has reached 31.4%. We are also assertive on the commercial side, especially in our Berlingo model.’
