THY Targets 171 Million Passengers Annually by 2033 with Fleet Expansion to 813 Aircraft

Within the scope of its strategic plan, Turkish Airlines (THY) aims to increase the number of aircraft in its fleet to 813 in 2033 and carry 171 million passengers annually.

Celebrating its 91st anniversary, THY has managed to continuously increase the number of domestic and international passengers in the last 22 years, except for the years when the Covid-19 global epidemic was effective.

In the company’s history, in 2003, the total number of passengers carried on domestic and international lines was 178 million, while this number was recorded as 250 million in 2008, 500 million in 2015 and 750 million in 2018.

THY carried its 1 billionth passenger in April 2023

Today, the flag carrier company operates flights to more than 130 countries with its young fleet of 456 aircraft.

THY planes, which take off every 59 seconds, cover an average of 2 million 837 thousand 397 kilometers every day.

THY planes, which circle the world 71 times, stay in the air for an average of 3,972 hours every day, which corresponds to 165 days.

An average of 2,194 pilots and 5,466 cabin crew members take part in flights every day.

THY planes carry an average of more than 249 thousand passengers and an average of 4 thousand 761 tons of cargo daily.
