33 million 426 thousand 940 foreign visitors came to Turkiye in the 8-month period of the year, an increase of 13.95% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 33 million 426 thousand 940 foreigners and 3 million 327 thousand 206 citizens residing abroad visited Turkiye until September this year.
There was a 13.95% increase in the number of foreign visitors to Turkiye in the 8-month period compared to the same period last year.
In the list of countries sending the most visitors to Turkiye in this period, Compared to the same period last year, the Russian Federation ranked first with an increase of 44.84% and 4 million 351 thousand 254 people, Germany came second with an increase of 6.03% and 4 million 82 thousand 994 people, England came third with an increase of 12.36% and 2 million 652 thousand 188 people.
These countries were followed by Bulgaria and Iran, respectively.
The most visitors came from Germany in August
The number of foreign visitors to Turkiye in August was 6 million 660 thousand 700, an increase of 5.65% compared to the same month last year.
In the list of countries sending the most visitors in August, Germany came first with a 1.52% increase and 871 thousand 270 people compared to the same month of the previous year, and the Russian Federation came second with a 5.68% increase and 852 thousand 640 people. England ranked third with an increase of 6.96% and 588 thousand 448 people. Iran and Poland followed the ranking.
