Istanbul Sea Buses (İDO) Commences Voyages to Samos Island from Izmir and Aydin

Istanbul Sea Buses (İDO) made its first voyages to Greece’s Samos Island from Izmir’s Seferihisar and Aydin’s Kusadasi districts.

İDO’s ship named ‘Aegean’ departed from Seferihisar Sigacik Teos Marina, and its ship named ‘Akdeniz’ departed from Kusadasi Aegean Port and carried a total of 422 passengers to Greece’s Samos Island.

It was stated that additional voyages will be organized to Samos Island during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, and the voyages planned to be 3 days a week in May can be operated every day with the opening of the season.

İDO General Manager Murat Orhan stated that they experienced one of the historical days for their company.

Reminding that their company was established in 1987 within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to transport passengers and vehicles in the Sea of Marmara, Orhan stated that they carry out 115 thousand voyages annually on 44 ships and 35 piers with 1200 personnel.

Stating that they gained international experience with Hatay-Kyrenia voyages in 2022, Orhan said, “We carried out our Seferihisar-Sasam and Kusadasi-Sasam voyages with a total of 422 passengers with our Aegean and Mediterranean ships. Our voyages, which will initially take place 3 days a week in the morning and return in the evening, will operate as morning departure and evening return every day of the week during the season.”

Orhan noted that their work on three different lines in the Aegean Sea continues.

It was reported that Seferihisar-Sasam voyages, which last 1 hour, are €35 round trip, or €45 if returning on a different day, while Kusadasi-Sasam voyages, which last half an hour, are €41 round trip, and €52 if returning on different days.
