Migros begins harvesting Turkish salmon in the Black Sea

Ibrahim Sozen, Fresh Products Marketing Director of Migros Trade Inc., said, “We will bring the abundance of the seas to tables all over Turkiye with the Turkish salmon that our fishermen raise in the coolest waters of the Black Sea in 14 months.”

Delivering its seafood products to its customers throughout the year, Migros has started harvesting Turkish salmon in the Black Sea Region.

According to the statement made by Migros, it continues to sell fish directly from the boat, from the market and from the producer so that its customers can access seafood. Migros, which will continue its production in the sea until the end of June, will offer Turkish salmon fresh and frozen to its customers throughout the year.

According to the information given, the company, which harvested salmon for the first time this year, aims to sell approximately 10 thousand tons of fresh, frozen and marinated by the end of the year.

Migros Trade Inc. Fresh Products Marketing Director Ibrahim Sozen, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they intensified their efforts in this context in order to increase fish consumption in Turkiye, and said:

‘With the work we started on fish last year, we have implemented various collaborations to support small producers and cooperatives. Our aim is to be on everyone’s table by offering fresh products as well as facilitating access to fish with our very affordable prices. While we offer a purchase guarantee to local producers in fish products, we also provide trainings to increase the quality standards of the fish that reach the counter. We will bring the abundance of the seas to tables all over Turkiye with Turkish salmon, which our fishermen raise in the coolest waters of the Black Sea in 14 months. For this, we started research and field trips a year ago. We pass a large number of analyzes in our laboratories, including heavy metal and microbiological control, during the journey of fish caught in accordance with the legal regulations to the aisle. We will continue our efforts to offer salmon and other local fish to our customers.’
