There will be reciprocal flights between Trabzon and Doha, the capital of Qatar, as of June 16.
As part of the work carried out by the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate under the coordination of the Trabzon Governorship, Qatar Airways will launch three scheduled flights a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as of June 16.
Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Tamer Erdogan told Anadolu Agency (AA) that Trabzon is ready to spend the tourism season to the fullest.
Stating that the city hosted 1 million visitors last year, Erdogan said, “Trabzon experienced its golden age after the pandemic. We expect a 30% increase in the number of visitors in 2023.”
Emphasizing that the new scheduled flights will also have a positive impact on the tourism potential, Erdogan said, “On June 16, Qatar Airways will start scheduled flights from Doha to Trabzon. We believe that this will further increase our tourism potential.”
