Renault, Volkswagen, and Ford Lead Turkiye’s Automotive Sales in May

Despite a Decline in Overall Market, Renault Tops the Charts in Automotive Sales

In May, Renault, Volkswagen, and Ford emerged as the top-selling brands in Turkiye’s automotive and light commercial vehicle market, according to data compiled by Anadolu Agency from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). Despite a 10.1% drop in total sales compared to the same period last year, with sales totaling 100,305 units, these brands maintained their dominance.

Automobile sales saw a decline of 8.19%, dropping to 80,260 units, while light commercial vehicle sales fell by 17% to 20,045 units.

Renault led the overall sales with 10,850 units, followed by Volkswagen with 9,794 units and Ford with 9,050 units. Fiat and Chery rounded out the top five, with 8,826 and 6,208 units sold, respectively.

Top 5 Automobile Brands in May

In the automobile category, Renault secured the top spot with 9,714 units sold. Chery followed with 6,208 units, and Hyundai came in third with 4,647 units. Fiat and Skoda completed the top five, with 4,510 and 4,162 units sold, respectively.

Luxury Car Sales Remain Stable

The ODMD list for May featured 55 brands, with notable activity from nearly all brands except Smart, Seres, Neta, and Aston Martin. Togg made significant strides with 4,140 units delivered, while Tesla’s sales remained low at 10 units, based on estimates due to a lack of official reporting to the ODMD.

In the luxury car segment, DS led with 127 units sold, followed by Porsche with 99 units, Lexus with 52, Maserati with 22, Jaguar with 5, and both Bentley and Ferrari with 3 units each. Lamborghini had the lowest sales with just 2 units sold.

Top 5 Light Commercial Vehicle Brands in May

In the light commercial vehicle segment, Ford dominated with 6,479 units sold, followed by Fiat with 4,316 units and Volkswagen with 1,758 units. Peugeot and Renault completed the top five, with 1,268 and 1,136 units sold, respectively.

Despite the overall decline in sales, leading brands like Renault, Volkswagen, and Ford have maintained strong performances, underscoring their enduring appeal in Turkiye’s competitive automotive market.
