34 companies from Turkiye participated in The Plastics Show 2024 (NPE) fair held in the United States, which is one of the three most important fairs in the world in the plastics industry.
According to the statement made by the Istanbul Chemicals and Products Exporters Association (IKMIB), with the national participation organization organized by IKMIB for the 3rd time, 10 companies participating in the fair and 24 companies participating individually presented Turkish brands for plastic raw materials and plastic machinery equipment to the buyers.
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IKMIB, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they saw the fair as an important opportunity for new collaborations and stated that the US market was among the target markets.
Stating that the plastic industry will export $385 million to the USA in 2023, Pelister said:
“This year, plastics industry exports to the USA in the first four months of the year reached $145.6 million, with an increase of 20.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, and became the fourth country to which we export the most in the industry. While the general exports of the plastics industry will be $9.16 billion in 2023, it was approximately $3 billion in the first four months of this year. We attach importance to their participation in such events so that the sector can maintain a stable export increase.”
