Turkiye: Exports to Balkan countries increase

Exports to the Balkan countries exceeded $8 billion in 5 months. Romania ranks first with an export figure of over $2 billion. The most exported sector is chemicals and products.

Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Greeceā€¦.

Exports to the Balkan geography are increasing day by day. Trade is flourishing. In the January-May period, exports reached $8 billion 6 million 750 thousand.

Most exports were to Romania

Among the 11 Balkan countries, the highest export was to Romania with $2 billion 370 million. Bulgaria followed Romania with $1 billion 633 million and Greece with $1 billion 41 million. Exports were $942 million to Slovenia and $623 million to Serbia.

The province that exports the most to the Balkans is Istanbul

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the province that exports the most to the Balkans is Istanbul.

The mega city’s exports to the region amounted to $3 billion 605 million. It alone shouldered 45% of the exports to the Balkan geography.

Chemicals and products were exported the most

Chemical substances and products were mostly exported to the Balkan geography. The 5-month export sales of the sector was $1 billion 397 million. The steel industry comes second with $893 million 221 thousand. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals are in third place with more than $672 million in exports.
