Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz meets with Huawei delegation

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz received a delegation led by Huawei Senior Vice President and Europe Region President Jim Lu.

Istanbul According to a statement from the company, during the meeting between Vice President Yılmaz and the Huawei delegation, discussions were held regarding Turkey’s potential in information and communication technologies and the green energy sector, as well as future roadmaps.

Yılmaz, in his remarks during the meeting, expressed his pleasure in seeing Huawei’s 22 years of activities in Turkey and its long-standing investments in the country.

Yılmaz noted that Huawei is a good example of Chinese companies investing in Turkey and requested an increase in Huawei’s investments, emphasizing that they view foreign investments in the country as contributions to Turkish companies.

Lu, Huawei Senior Vice President and Europe Region President, also expressed their extreme happiness with the fair and open business environment provided by the Turkish government.

During the meeting, Kaya Shi, General Manager of Huawei Turkey, discussed the company’s operations in Turkey, localization process, diversity and inclusivity, and its societal contributions.

Huawei, which entered the Turkish market in 2002, has a workforce in the country consisting of 96% Turkish employees. Additionally, Huawei has established local R&D centers, local cloud data centers, and training centers in Turkey.

Initiating various talent development programs such as “Seeds for the Future” and the “Information Academy” to educate young talents in Turkey, Huawei collaborated with local partners to provide disaster relief and rebuild damaged networks following the earthquake on February 6, 2023.
