LPG imports decreased year-on-year in September

LPG imports decreased by 15.8% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 273 thousand 171 tons.

According to the “Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for September, Algeria, USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Norway, Libya, Romania, Italy, France and Tunisia were the countries from which LPG was imported by refinery and distributor license holders.

LPG imports decreased by 15.8% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and were recorded as 273 thousand 171 tons.

In this period, LPG exports made by refinery and distributor license holders increased by 32.3% to 26 thousand 56 tons. Exports were made to Lebanon, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Marshall Islands, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Romania and Turkiye Free Zones.

LPG production decreased by 4.43% in the same period and became 92 thousand 459 tons.

Total LPG sales made by distributor license holders in September amounted to approximately 352 thousand 328 tons.

While bulk LPG sales increased by 23.3% on an annual basis, cylinder LPG sales decreased by 14.5% and autogas sales by 8%. Thus, total LPG sales in the domestic market decreased by 8.4%.

In the said month, autogas ranked first with a market share of 81.2% in sales. This was followed by cylinder LPG with 15.9% and bulk LPG with 2.9%.
