Turkish Tea Exports Surpass $10.4 Million in First 4 Months of 2024

Turkiye’s tea exports in the January-April 2024 period reached $10 million 461 thousand 225.

Saban Turgut, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association and Chairman of the Tea Sector Committee, said that tea was sold to 102 countries, autonomous and free zones from Turkiye in 4 months of the year.

Stating that 2 thousand 219 tons of tea were exported in the said period and an income of $10 million 461 thousand 225 was achieved, Turgut stated that Belgium, the United Kingdom and the USA were the three countries with the most exports.

Turgut stated that $4 million 578 thousand 120 worth of tea was sold to Belgium in this period, and noted that Belgium was followed by the United Kingdom with $1 million 260 thousand 479 and the USA with $803 thousand 712.

Turgut pointed out that there was increased diversity in the countries where exports were made during this period, mentioning that tea was sold to different countries compared to the same period last year, including Greece, Mauritania, Croatia, Dubai, Cameroon, Poland, Tunisia, Egypt, South Sudan, New Zealand, Burundi, Brazil, Central African Republic, Venezuela, Equatorial Guinea, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Djibouti, Cambodia, and Slovenia.

Turgut pointed out that the awareness of Turkish tea in foreign markets is increasing and added that this situation will have a positive impact on exports in the coming days.
