Turkiye: $7.3 billion of exports from the furniture, paper and forest products sector

The furniture, paper and forest products sector exported $690 million in November, reaching $7.3 billion of exports at the end of 11 months.

According to the statement of Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, in November, total exports amounted to $23 billion 11 million with an increase of 5.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, while exports in the last 12 months reached $255.8 billion with an increase of 0.9%.

The furniture, paper and forest products sector achieved exports of $690 million in November. The sector achieved exports of $7.3 billion at the end of 11 months.

The Middle East, European Union and African countries received the largest share of the sector’s exports. In the top 10 countries with an export increase of 5% or more in markets with exports of $10 million or more; Saudi Arabia took part with an increase of 257.36%, Democratic Republic of the Congo with an increase of 183.03%, Malta with an increase of 59.53%, and Ukraine with an increase of 57.19%, Serbia with an increase of 46.16%, Moldova with an increase of 42.21%, Montenegro with an increase of 32.87%, Morocco with an increase of 31.82%, Yemen with an increase of 24.61% and Belarus with an increase of 24.59%.

Erkan Ozkan, President of the Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters Association, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they were happy with the stability they achieved in exports and said, “We are proud of the contribution we made as a sector in November, when the highest export figure in history was reached.”
