This data is said to be the highest level in the last five years. While the overall smartphone market contracted by 13.3% year-on-year, the premium segment increased by 4.7% year-on-year.
According to the report, Apple dominated the flagship segment charts with four iPhones on the list. Launched last year, the iPhone 14 Pro Max became the best-selling flagship model. The top model was followed by the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14. The iPhone 13, released in 2021, ranks fourth on the list. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra took fifth place, making it the best-selling Android flagship. The iPhone 14 Plus took the sixth place. Accordingly, all iPhone 14 series devices entered the list of best-selling flagships in the 1st quarter of 2023.
According to the chart, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has outstripped the Pro variant by a large margin. Shipments of the one-year-old iPhone 13 also outperformed the current-generation iPhone 14 Plus.
Surprisingly, the old iPhone 12 and iPhone SE (3rd Gen) were also on the best-selling flagships list in the first quarter of the year. Apple has a total of seven iPhones on the list, while Samsung has six. Apart from the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the S23, S23 Plus, Galaxy Z Flip 4, S22 and S21 FE 5G became the best-selling flagships of the South Korean brand. Among Chinese OEMs, only Xiaomi’s Xiaomi 13 and Huawei’s Mate 50 were among the best-selling flagship models.
