Housing Price Index in Turkiye Up by 2.3% in January

The House Price Index reached 1190 in January, with a monthly increase of 2.3% and an annual increase of 68%.

Housing Price Index data for the January 2024 period was announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye.

HPI, which is calculated to monitor price changes excluding the quality effect of houses in Turkiye, increased by 2.3% compared to the previous month and reached 1190 in January.

While HPI increased by 68% on an annual basis in January, the real increase in this period was 1.4%.

When we look at the HPI change for three major provinces, an increase of 1.3%, 2.4% and 2.8% was observed in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in January compared to the previous month.

Index values increased by 54.5% in Istanbul, 85.6% in Ankara and 70.4% in Izmir compared to the same month last year.
