Turkish Business Selects Gloucestershire, England as Global Headquarters Location

A Turkish cyber security business is set to move to Cheltenham in the next few months.

TR7 will be establishing its global headquarters at Eagle Tower in the town.

The move comes after Phil Clement, head of inward investment at GFirst LEP, presented to TR7 and other Turkish cyber firms in Istanbul in January, organised by the Department for Business & Trade.

The team then hosted the company on two visits to the Gloucestershire, in March and June this year.

Senior managers will be relocating from Turkey and discussions are underway with the Global Entrepreneurs Programme, which is supporting the visa process.

The company, which specialises in load balancing and web application firewalls, has gained a lot of plaudits for its cyber security work related to the recent national elections in Turkey.

TR7 will be looking to recruit additional sales and technical staff locally, as it expands into other international markets, with the UK as its home.

Phil Clement, head of inward investment at GFirst LEP,said: “We are very pleased to welcome TR7 into the growing cyber security cluster in Gloucestershire, the largest outside London. Our thanks to the Department for Business & Trade for supporting our efforts to promote the Gloucestershire cyber offer internationally, including the Cyber High Potential Opportunity (HPO) afforded to us by central government.”

Ömer Günel, general manager at TR7, said: “TR7 are excited about opening our new global HQ in Cheltenham. We have been impressed by the depth of the cyber ecosystem in Gloucestershire and we look forward to bringing over key members of our team from Turkey, as well as hiring from the excellent local talent pool. The strong sense of community, with many people offering to help support our scaling-up, was an also important factor’. “

TR7 is looking forward to joining the cyber ecosystem in Gloucestershire and joining the team at Eagle Tower.
