Stating that they will fight against informality, Simsek said that they will review the expenditures and direct them to more productive and efficient areas.

Stating that they are working on very serious regulations, Simsek said, “It will be a precise shot. By fighting against the unregistered economy, we will bring the budget deficit under control in a more permanent way. Being unregistered means being unfair.”

New POS devices will be used starting from June

Simsek also touched upon new methods in the fight against the informal economy. He said that starting from June, new POS devices will be used to prevent receipts with low VAT rates.

“Our aim is to increase voluntary compliance”

Speaking about the arrangements to be made in lease agreements, Simsek said, “Our intention is to make lease agreements through e-Government. We knocked on more than 420 thousand doors in the last two months, we compared the information we had with the actual situation. Our aim is to increase voluntary compliance. A rent declaration must be submitted at the end of this month. It is important for us to ensure that these rental declarations are submitted. Because if we conduct an investigation in April regarding the declarations that have not been submitted, the taxpayer may face more severe consequences. We have very concrete information. Our aim is to increase voluntary compliance and enable citizens to submit declarations.”

Simsek also emphasized that there is no problem in Turkiye’s access to the resource.

“There will be serious credit score increases in Turkiye in the coming months”
