Benchmark index drops 5.8 points at Thursday’s open
Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,657.03 points, down slightly by 0.08%, or 5.81 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed the midweek at 7,662.85 points, decreasing by 0.82%, with a daily trading volume of 63 billion Turkish liras ($2.16 billion)
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.1410 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT),the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.8960, while a British pound traded for 36.8150 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $79.70 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,048.80.
