Turkish stock exchange looking up at open

Benchmark index rises 40 points at opening session

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened the midweek at 8,482.37 points, increasing by 0.47%, or 39.58 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 8,442.79 points, up 3.04%,with a daily trading volume of 129.1 billion Turkish liras ($4.64 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.7340 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 29.4300 and a British pound traded for 34.0560 liras.


Brent crude oil was selling for around $88.05 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,876.50.
