Turkiye: Measures against dumping and subsidies in imports continue

The Ministry of Commerce announced that 126 anti-dumping and subsidy measures are continuing to protect domestic producers from unfair competition in imports.

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that as a result of the investigations carried out within the framework of international rules, domestic producers were strongly protected against unfair competition and the damage caused by dumped imports was prevented.

In this context, it was stated in the statement that 126 anti-dumping and subsidy measures, 26 final reviews on 15 products and 6 dumping investigations on 3 products are currently ongoing.

“In accordance with the provisions of the Legislation on the Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports, anti-dumping measures cease to be effective 5 years after their entry into force or the date of the last review investigation. However, regarding the anti-dumping measure that will be repealed, upon the duly prepared application of the domestic producers of the product subject to the measure, who claim that dumping and damage will continue or occur again after the expiration of the measure, a final review investigation may be opened for the product subject to the measure, provided that the necessary conditions are met within the framework of the relevant legislation.”

Existing anti-dumping measure remains in effect until investigation is completed

In the statement, the “Communiqué on the Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports”, which came into force after being published in the Official Gazette today, was also mentioned, and it was reminded that, as a result of the evaluation of the application received from the domestic manufacturer, a final review investigation was initiated to review the anti-dumping measure in force on imports of “stainless steel pipes” originating from China and Taiwan.

In the statement, it was stated that those who wish to participate in the investigation as a party should apply to the Ministry of Commerce within the periods specified in the notification.

The statement stated that the current anti-dumping measure will remain in force until the investigation is completed, and added: “The use of import policy tools will be continued effectively to protect our companies against unfair competition.”
