Benchmark index earns 150 points
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index closed Monday at 5,732.86 points, extending gains from last week.
Starting the week at 5,644.33 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 2.69%,or 150.11 points from the previous close.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.76 trillion Turkish liras ($194.2 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 75 billion Turkish liras ($2.90 billion).
The index’s lowest value on Monday was 5,632.06, while its daily high was 5,749.66.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,936.05, while Brent crude oil sold for around $74.14 per barrel as of 6.17 p.m. local time (1517GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 25.7014, the euro/lira exchange rate was 28.0386, and the British pound traded at 32.6904 liras.
