Minister Uraloglu met with Kyrgyz Minister of Transport and Communications Tilek Tekebaev and his accompanying delegation at the ministry.

During the meeting, Uraloglu expressed his pleasure in hosting them in Ankara for the 11th Meeting of the Turkiye -Kyrgyzstan Joint Economic Commission.

Stating that Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan are located in a difficult and valuable geography, Uraloglu said, “When people live in a difficult geography, they try harder to adapt to the conditions they are in and overcome them. The role that the Organization of Turkish States has taken recently is very valuable to us, too. We are gathering around a table for the first time. We call it ‘Turkiye Century’. Turkish state organizations call it ‘Turkish Century’. This is really valuable for us.”

THE CENTRAL CORRIDOR WILL GET STRONGER

Minister Uraloglu underlined that the new steps to be taken in terms of road transportation will make significant contributions to the development of relations between the two countries.

Reminding that the Land Transportation Joint Commission Meeting was last held in 2021, Minister Uraloglu said, “At the meeting, it was decided to liberalize bilateral and transit transportation. With this decision, considering the changes in the supply chain and the increasing demand for road transportation, trade between our countries as well as between east and west will improve, and the Central Corridor will become even stronger.”

WE ATTACH UTTER IMPORTANCE TO RAIL TRANSPORTATION

Explaining that Turkiye also attaches importance to railway transportation and makes large-scale investments in this field, Minister Uraloglu said, “These investments are beneficial not only for itself but also for the countries in the region. We created an uninterrupted railway infrastructure on the Central Corridor with the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, which we put into operation in 2017. We also support projects related to railway transportation.”
