43 software and IT companies from Turkiye participated in GITEX Global

A total of 43 software and IT companies participated in GITEX Global, a technology fair from Turkiye within the framework of the Service Exporters Association (HIB) National Participation Organization.

According to the statement made by HIB, GITEX Global, the world’s “largest” and “most comprehensive” technology event, held for the 43rd time this year, hosted more than 6 thousand companies and more than 200 thousand visitors from more than 170 countries.

Turkiye participated in the fair held at the Dubai World Trade Center with more than 50 companies, 43 of which were supported by the Ministry of Commerce and within the framework of the HIB national participation organization. While the Turkiye pavilion and the stands of Turkish companies, located in 5 separate halls, attracted great attention, very important collaborations were also achieved.

Dubai Consul General Onur Saylan and Dubai Commercial Attaches Ersoy Erbay, Haci Hasan Kaygisiz and Muhammed Emin Erkal visited the Turkiye stand and received information about the activities of the participating Turkish companies.

A wide range of topics were discussed at GITEX Global, from the work of major technology and telecommunication companies, which are stakeholders of the global digital economy, to new initiatives, from public investments to coders and developers, from new crypto and blockchain systems to academy and youth projects.

A target of $15 billion in exports is made in 5 years

HIB Board Member and Chairman of the Software and Information Services Committee Ilhan Bagoren, whose views were included in the statement, noted that the Turkish software and information services sector has reached a total volume of $23 billion.

Pointing out that exports increased to $3 billion last year, Bagoren said, “The export volume of the sector reached 13%, and the annual sales volume grew by 21%. We aim to carry our sector, which has attracted attention all over the world in recent years and has a high potential, to an export volume of $15 billion within 5 years with the right steps we will take. We aim for profitability in the sector’s balance of payments. We are confident that our industry will reach much better points with our deep-rooted industrial structure, the size of demand in the domestic market, our large and young population structure, our product diversity and development competence, our affordable cost compared to competing countries, improved access to technology, and the incentives and supports our state provides for exports, R&D and employment.”
