93 thousand 761 houses were sold in Turkiye in October

Housing sales across Turkiye decreased by 8.7% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93 thousand 761.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced housing sales statistics for October.

Accordingly, house sales across Turkiye decreased by 8.7% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93 thousand 761. Istanbul had the highest share in housing sales with 14 thousand 941 house sales and 15.9%. According to sales numbers, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 7 thousand 394 house sales and a 7.9% share, and Izmir with 5 thousand 192 house sales and a 5.5% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 40 houses, Ardahan with 43 houses and Bayburt with 80 houses.

Housing sales decreased by 14.3% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 993 thousand 835.

The number of first-hand house sales was 29 thousand 230

The number of first-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 10.6% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 29 thousand 230. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 31.2%. First-hand house sales amounted to 297 thousand 827 in the January-October period, with a decrease of 13.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

64 thousand 531 houses changed hands in second-hand house sales

Second-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 7.8% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 64 thousand 531. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 68.8%. Second-hand house sales decreased by 14.6% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 696 thousand 8.

2 thousand 535 houses were sold to foreigners in October

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 52.9% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2 thousand 535. The share of housing sales to foreigners in total housing sales in October was 2.7%. Antalya took the first place in housing sales to foreigners with 931 house sales. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 758 house sales and Mersin with 294 house sales.

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 44.4% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 30 thousand 599.

In October, citizens of the Russian Federation bought 713 houses from Turkiye. Russian Federation citizens were followed by Iranian citizens with 235 houses, Germany with 152 houses and Ukrainian citizens with 138 houses, respectively.
