DHL Express Turkiye, which has increased the number of electric vehicles in its fleet to 29 this year, has announced that by the end of 2025, electric vehicles will make up 80% of the vehicle fleet in Turkiye.

Emphasizing that as the world’s leading logistics company, becoming a sustainability leader is among their responsibilities, DHL Express Turkiye CEO Mustafa Tonguc said, “As DHL Express Turkiye, we lead our industry in environmentally friendly logistics. In order to achieve our goals, we work to make every aspect of our business sustainable and reshape our operations to protect the environment. We aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from 41 million metric tons to 29 million metric tons by 2030. Accordingly, we continue to increase the number of environmentally friendly electric vehicles in our fleet.” Mustafa Tonguc stated that in addition to purchasing electric vehicles directly, they have converted some of the gasoline vehicles in their fleet to electric. “In line with our sustainability roadmap, we aim to increase the number of electric vehicles in our fleet to 59 by the end of 2023, and to convert 80% of our final delivery vehicles into electric vehicles by the end of 2025.” Tonguc also added that if the range of electric vehicles increases during this period compared to the current situation, the target set as 80% will also increase.
60% of DPDHL Group’s fleet will be electric vehicles
On the other hand, DPDHL Group, to which DHL Express is affiliated, aims to have electric vehicles account for 60% of its global fleet by 2030. The company, which plans to increase the use of environmentally friendly electric vehicles in line with the “Sustainability Roadmap” all over the world, placed an order for 2,000 new Ford E-Transit vehicles for the first time.
