Agricultural input price index increased by 6.94% in August

Agricultural input price index (Agricultural-IPI) increased by 6.94% on a monthly basis and 41.33% on an annual basis in August.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced Agricultural-IPI data for August.

Accordingly, the index increased by 6.94% in August compared to the previous month, 29.71% compared to December last year, 41.33% compared to the same month last year and 62.79% compared to 12-month averages.

In the main groups, there was a 7.01% increase in the index of goods and services used in agriculture and a 6.58% increase in the index of goods and services that contribute to agricultural investment compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, the index of goods and services used in agriculture increased by 36.51%, and the index of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment increased by 79.22%.

Subgroups

Compared to the annual Agricultural-IPI, 3 subgroups showed lower changes and 8 subgroups showed higher changes. The subgroups with the lowest annual increase were fertilizer and soil improvers with 14.92% and animal feed with 25.63%. The subgroups with the highest annual increase compared to last year were recorded as veterinary expenditures with 105.88% and other goods and services with 89.07%.

Compared to the monthly Agricultural-IPI, 7 subgroups showed lower changes and 4 subgroups showed higher changes. The subgroups with the lowest increase compared to last month were animal feed with 1.28% and agricultural chemicals with 1.89%. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest monthly increase were energy and oils with 19.93%, and fertilizers and soil improvers with 18.07%.
